Ability to verify K/G records faster

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central offers a wide range of financial management and accounting capabilities. One of the key aspects of this system is reviewing general ledger accounts. In this article, we will introduce a new feature that will help system users speed up the process of reviewing general ledger accounts. This feature is generally available to users with WAVE 1 2023 (BC22).

Example of use within an organization:

When closing the accounting period, it is often necessary to review all transactions in G/L accounts to ensure they are correct. With this feature, Business Central users can easily review entries in a given account and mark them as verified or unverified.

To use the Faster K/G Record Verification feature, the first step is to select the option Review Policy on the K/G account file.

• None – It is not possible to mark entries as verified. This option applies when there are other ways to view accounts and their values.
• AllowReview – allows viewing of accounts where debit and credit entries do not have to balance
• Allow Review and Match Balance - allows us to verify only those accounts in which debit and credit entries must balance

The next step is to review and mark the entries. From the General Ledger Entries on the ribbon, select the Review Entries.

A new window appears showing the entries for the selected account. After verifying that the data is correct, we can mark it as "Marked as reviewed". The following fields are automatically filled in: Reviewed by and Review date. The Reviewed Identifier is a marker that indicates which records were verified simultaneously.

Microsoft Dynamics offers a variety of tools for filtering and sorting documents. When verifying the accuracy of entries, filtering options—such as by posting date, document number, or other criteria relevant to the organization—are helpful, just as they are for other system lists.

In summary, the main purpose of this feature is to streamline accounting processes. It makes it easier to find the information you need and saves valuable time, allowing you to focus on growing your business.
