Short forms in Microsoft Dynamics 365
For virtually any business application, quick access to information is key. As few clicks as possible, the most efficient use of screen space. One way to help provide complete information with the necessary context is through shortened forms.

Connections. Links. Relationships. Databases in CRM systems are connected by dozens of strings that point to the right information. Each offer is assigned to the right customer. Every product to the right warehouse. Every invoice to the right contract. And so on, and so on. The examples can be multiplied.

However, it is often the case that clarity and transparency of information is lost in the maze of these connections. Connections and relationships result in the need for more clicks, opening browser windows, just to view information about the customer to whom a particular contract applies or the contact who reported a selected complaint to us.

In the case of the CRM application of the Dynamics 365 family, with the solution to this problem come shortened forms, allowing us to nest the information of a related record. For example: on an open offer form, we are able to display basic(and not only) customer data. On the claim data, information about the person who made the claim. And so on, without copying entries from field to field, without adding more processes, custom code.

Short forms are a great way to streamline the delivery of complete information and significantly reduce the number of clicks our users make in the CRM system to get the knowledge they need for their work.
